Additional Information

The Genate Test evaluates how your body processes the nutrients needed for a healthy pregnancy. Certain gene variants can increase nutrient requirements and/or point to a need for alternate nutrient forms.

This test does not provide medical advice or diagnose any medical conditions. Consult with a healthcare provider if you have any concerns regarding your results.

The Genate Essential Prenatal Multivitamin is the only core prenatal formulated by nutrition and genetics experts. It contains 20 nutrients, additional antioxidants, and a probiotic for gut health. We've included optimal levels of nutrients that many women have problems metabolizing due to genetic variants.

More Details

The Genate Test

The Genate Test was developed from extensive academic research and clinical studies. It stands alone as the only prenatal genetic screening test to provide a comprehensive analysis of the key nutrient pathways in pregnancy. With your results, our registered dietitians can provide personalized nutrition recommendations to fit your genetics.

The Genate Test evaluates over 325 genetic markers, addressing the following genetic variants and metabolic pathways important for fetal development:

  • PEMT, CHK, and SLC44A1: Phosphatidylcholine and choline synthesis
  • MTHFR and MTHFD1: Metabolism of folate, choline, and B vitamins
  • MTR and BHMT: DNA methylation
  • CHDH: Choline and betaine metabolism
  • PNPLA3, APOC3, FADS2, and SCD: Fatty acid metabolism

One-carbon metabolism is the primary focus of the Genate Test due to its role in neural tube, brain, and nervous system development, DNA methylation, homocysteine metabolism, and postpartum recovery. The test also evaluates genetic variants in the metabolic pathways of nine other vitamins and minerals critical during pregnancy.

Each client's Genate Report provides information on their gene variants and how they metabolism of the following nutrients: choline, folate, DHA, betaine, vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D, K, riboflavin, calcium, iron, and magnesium. This test does not provide medical advice or diagnose any medical conditions. Consult with a healthcare provider if you have any concerns regarding your results.

Your genetic data will be processed via the Genate Test algorithm, and you will receive a report regarding your metabolic inefficiencies that can cause depletions in important nutrients. The report will be shared with you via a secure password protected portal. This access will not be shared with anyone without your password, including employees of SNP Therapeutics, healthcare providers, insurance companies, or law enforcement agents without your consent or the demand of a court order.

The Science Behind Nutrient Metabolism

What Makes Genate Different?

The only prenatal multivitamin with optimal levels of one-carbon nutrients for your health and your baby’s development

Our multivitamin is one-of-a-kind, developed by pediatricians and nutrigenetic researchers to provide:
  1. Critical one-carbon nutrients for your baby’s DNA and brain development
  2. All of the nutrients you need in the right amounts and forms for optimal absorption
Many prenatal vitamins lack some of the most important nutrients for pregnancy like choline, betaine, calcium, and iodine. These one-a-day supplements are convenient, but they don’t have everything you and your baby need. Genate includes all of these vital nutrients, plus much more.

Read on to learn how the levels of brain-building nutrients in Genate stack up to store brands.
